Victoria Eavis

About me

In the closing months of college, Eavis joined a tiny local paper. Her first assignment was a story on a prominent arts leader who abruptly announced her resignation. Ever since that very first interview, she was hooked.

Eavis was born and raised in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in 2020. Since graduation, she worked for Lead Stories, NPR and was the state and federal politics reporter for Wyoming’s largest newspaper, the Casper Star-Tribune, during the time when former-Rep. Liz Cheney made daily headlines.

Eavis has won multiple awards including 2nd and 3rd place for enterprise reporting at the 2023 Society of Professional Journalists — Top of the Rockies.

After Wyoming, Eavis headed north to Bozeman where she now works as a politics reporter for Lee Enterprise’s Montana State News Bureau.

In her free time, she likes reading books by other reporters, watching Liverpool win, wandering with her slinky heeler, rock climbing up low angle cliffs, cycling on chunky gravel and skiing downhill.
